For over 55 years, Sue Badgett has been helping clients create, grow, and protect their wealth. Her constant commitment to her core values of honesty; integrity; competence; and diligence has allowed her to assist four generations of clients not only achieve their financial goals but create an everlasting legacy.
Reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning and growth in her profession, Sue earned a certificate from the Wealth Planning Essentials Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Sue has been a pioneer and mentor for women in the financial services industry as featured in Registered Representative Magazine. Prior to Hilliard Lyons merger with Baird, Sue was the only female to be recognized as the firm's top advisor in the firm’s long history. Sue holds the Series 7, 9 and 66 securities licenses. She also holds her life insurance license.
Sue strives to make a difference in the lives of her clients and community too. Giving back to the community is Sue’s true passion. She is a founding member of the Center for Research on Violence Against Women and the Women & Philanthropy Leadership Council at the University of Kentucky. She stays actively involved with the Salvation Army, the Gatton Academy, the Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program, and many other worthy causes.

Peter joined The Badgett Group as a Financial Advisor with over 20 years of experience in the investment industry. He was drawn to this industry through a passion for helping clients identify their financial goals and developing strategies to achieve those goals.
In 2010, Peter joined Hilliard Lyons as an Options Strategist where he helped clients grow and protect their wealth. Most recently, Peter served as a Portfolio Manager with Hilliard Lyons Trust, A Baird Company. Acting in a fiduciary capacity, he carefully constructed and managed diversified portfolios for individuals, institutions, and charitable organizations.
Prior to joining Baird, Peter began his career as a proprietary trader on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange and went on to serve as the Head Trader for Archelon, LLC, where he was responsible for the firm’s electronic trading activities. Peter has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Virginia and holds the Series 4, 7, 24, and 66 securities licenses.
Ben joined The Badgett Group as a Financial Advisor. He began his career at Baird working as a summer intern while still attending college. His love for the industry, the company and client engagement encouraged him to pursue additional opportunities through the Baird Foundations Program from which he recently graduated.
Ben is excited to utilize his planning experience to create customized roadmaps to help our clients navigate every step of their financial lives. Ben attended the University of Kentucky on the William C. Parker Scholarship where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with a Minor in Economics. He holds the Series 7 and 66 securities licenses in addition to the Life and Health Insurance licenses.
Jill joined Hilliard Lyons as a Client Assistant in 1989. She has been attentive to our clients’ needs and provided them with the care they truly deserve.
Prior to joining Baird, Jill began her career at Citizens Deposit Bank in Calhoun, KY as a drive-through window teller.
Outside of work, Jill enjoys spending time with her husband, Randy. She and Randy have two adult sons, AJ and Trevor. AJ, his wife Lindsay, and son Luke live out of state; Trevor lives nearby. Jill and Randy cherish the time they get to spend with their family.
Jill is active in her church volunteering with different outreach programs. She has volunteered on an American Cancer Society Relay For Life team for years helping to raise funds. Giving back to others is very important to Jill. She also is known to hunt for junk, antiques, and anything old that has history.
April has served as a Client Assistant since November 2010. She works with clients daily and facilitates a wide variety of inquiries. April is dedicated to listening to our clients and ensuring their needs are fulfilled in a thorough and timely manner.
Prior to joining Baird, April began her career in the medical field performing insurance billing and data entry. She is a lifelong resident of Hopkins County.
Away from the office, April enjoys spending time with her husband, Dale, and their three children, Shelby, Gabe, and Nathan. She can often be found attending her children’s various school activities including archery and band. She is active in the Band Boosters for Hopkins County Central High School where she serves as Vice President.
